A realistic 30-day IELTS study plan (2 hours per day)
You do not need to quit your job to move a band. Here is a 30-day plan built around 2-hour weekday sessions and a single long Sunday block.
Most IELTS plans on the internet assume the candidate is unemployed. This one does not. It is calibrated for people who work, study, or parent — and still want a half-band jump in a month.
Week 1 — Diagnostic and rhythm
One full mock on day one. Analyse errors, not scores. Days 2–6 focus on the two skills flagged as lowest. Sunday: a light 90-minute walkthrough of your writing script with a mentor.
Week 2 — Reading + Listening speed
Alternate skimming drills with dictation. Cap each session at 45 minutes of active work + 15 minutes of review.
Week 3 — Writing + Speaking depth
Task 2 every other day. Speaking recording every day, three minutes only. Sunday: one full writing test under timed conditions.
Week 4 — Simulation and confidence
Two full mocks this week. Sleep the night before as if it were the real exam. Save the last day for taper — no new material, only review.
